Description

The Afghanistan project for Capacity Development in Educational Planning and Management III (CD-EPM-III) started in 2015 and will end in 2018. It supports planning of education programmes, monitored by competent Ministry of Education (MoE) staff at national, provincial and district levels.

The programme includes multiple components:

1) The development of a National Training Program in Educational Planning and Management with the Ministry of Education;

2) The production and review of MoE’s policy and plan documents;

3) The consolidation of MoE’s technical capacity;

4) The provision of logistical support services for the implementation of the project.

IIEP’s Technical Cooperation team oversees the management and financing of the project’s implementation and provides technical advice, expertise, and quality assurance. A UNESCO IIEP national coordinator, based within the MoE’s Department of Planning and Evaluation (DoPE) in Kabul, is in charge of the daily management of the project’s activities in close collaboration with the IIEP programme manager in Paris, and with the General Director of DoPE. UNESCO’s Kabul Office provides IIEP with logistical and administrative support.
