Research partnerships
IIEP is involved in two major research partnerships with:

- The Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Amsterdam Institute for Metropolitan and International Development Studies (AMIDSt) of the University of Amsterdam, and the International Rescue Committee, New York. More.
The research projects focus on education in emergencies and fragile contexts and aim to contribute to the Education for All goals.
This case study analyses decade-long survival strategies in the Burundian education sector during a period of conflict and the attempts made to salvage and rebuild the school system. More.
This publication examines the overall education sector response to the earthquake as well as lessons learned. Particular attention is given to the operation of an Education Cluster within the Humanitarian Cluster System and to the applicaiton of INEE Minimum Standards for Education in Emergencies, Chronic Crises and Early Reconstruction. - 'Planning education in and after emergencies' by Margaret Sinclair was published in late 2002 and provides a review of the state of the discipline at this time. More.
- IIEP’s first thematic policy studies are global in scope rather than limited to a particular country's experience. The first deals with co-ordinating education during emergencies and reconstruction. More.
- IIEP collaborated with the Norwegian Refugee Council to advise the Refugee Studies Centre (University of Oxford) on editorial content for its journal 'Forced Migration Review' No. 22 dealing with education in emergencies. More.
