Educational Management Information System (EMIS)

All steps of educational planning need information – both quantitative and qualitative. Hence, information systems have to be user-friendly and ensure proper collection, organization storage, dissemination, and transmission of data. This course provides participants with the necessary knowledge and skills associated with the building and use of information systems in educational planning and management. It deals with information systems for all levels of education and which can be utilized at all levels of administration.

Aims

 The course will enable participants to:

  • Understand the characteristics of an Educational Management Information System (EMIS)
  • Plan the different steps involved in a school census
  • Design the data collection tools for a school census
  • Identify the education related data to be included in EMIS
  • Develop an indicators system for follow-up, evaluation and monitoring
