IIEP-UNESCO will participate in the Pan-African High-Level Conference on Education (PACE 2018), taking place in Nairobi, Kenya from 25-27 April 2018. Convened by UNESCO and the Government of Kenya, PACE 2018 aims to strengthen the partnerships in education and accelerate the implementation of SDG4 and the Education 2030 Agenda and the Continental Education Strategy for Africa (CESA 2016-2025) at the country level.

- Panel on innovative financing // 26 April 2018, 10:30-12:30pm
IIEP’s Director Suzanne Grant Lewis will be the moderator in the panel presentation ‘Increasing innovative investment in education as a continuum’ during the technical meeting ‘Translating Education 2030 and CESA 16-25 Agendas into practice’. Featuring the perspectives of national and international civil society organizations, government, and development partners, this panel aims to deepen the understanding of the term “innovative financing” and identify promising options for ensuring the support of Africa’s educational transformation.
- Panel on efficient education financing // 26 April 2018, 2pm-4pm
IIEP-Pôle de Dakar Coordinator's Guillaume Husson is the organizer and speaker on the panel ‘Improving the efficiency of education financing’. This session will provide a space to discuss more efficient and equitable use of financial resources in education to achieve the goal of inclusive and quality education. It will also make the case for increased funding for education, as well as for education in emergencies and in conflict-affected countries.
More about PACE 2018
African countries today are at different stages in integrating the both internationally and regionally agreed targets and commitments into their national education policies, plans, and practices. This event will provide an important opportunity to take stock of the progress made over the past several years and identify ways to better align policies and plans with education goals.
