Erasmus has twenty years’ of international diplomatic experience in North Africa, North America and Europe where, as Acting and Deputy Head of Diplomatic Missions, he helped to build mutually beneficial bilateral relations for his native country, Zimbabwe. In 2001, he helped set up Zimbabwe’s first diplomatic training Institute that he went on to administer for three years as Senior Programmes Officer.

He worked as a management consultant between 2006 and 2009 during which he conducted research on business education worldwide on behalf of a government, which wanted to set up its own homegrown Business School. In addition to teaching an on-line Doctoral course in World Comparative Politics at the Swiss Management Centre University, he collaborated with like-minded experts to develop customized on-site management training solutions for clients such as BP’s North African Facility. 

In 2010, Erasmus joined the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome where he helped develop and manage its first structured and flagship management and leadership development programme. In 2014, together with Harvard Business Publishing, he transformed the programme into a blended virtual learning experience, which FAO is still offering to hundreds of its senior and middle managers worldwide.

In July 2018, he joined IIEP as Human Resources Officer having left FAO’s Shared Service Centre in Budapest, Hungary where he helped set up a digital HR Records Management Centre. At IIEP, he is committed to making the HR function a valued strategic business partner that finds, develops, supports, rewards, and retains talented people who deliver superior results for the Institute and its clients worldwide.
