IIEP is pleased to welcome this week new participants to the residential phase of its intensive training in educational planning and management in Paris, France.

This year’s 29 participants come from 16 countries, including Afghanistan, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Comoros, Djibouti, Cote D’Ivoire, Kenya, Malawi, Niger, Rwanda, Sénégal, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Vanuatu, and Zimbabwe.

The new participants are pursuing either the one-year Advanced Training Programme, which is in its 54th year, or the shorter six-month programme, Education Sector Planning. The residential phase for both options follows a three-month online phase, which participants completed in their home countries.

The participants will develop both practical and theoretical skills in planning and management, as well as leadership skills. The training programmes also contribute to the institutional capacity that ministries of education require to carry out education sector analyses and plans that reflect both national priorities and their commitments to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4).

The IIEP community welcomes the new participants and looks forward to accompanying them on this professional journey. We will be sharing highlights and stories about their experiences and milestones over the next six months, so stay tuned!
