Research seminars: Sharing Ideas, Approaches and Findings for Education Development

The International Institute of Educational Planning (IIEP-UNESCO), the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and the CEPED are organizing a series of research seminars for an  opportunity to share current research, ideas, approaches, and findings for educational development.

This monthly series aims to bring together researchers, academics, and professionals in an open discussion over a varied range of topics in education development. Topics presented will be diverse in methodologies and approaches towards investigating and evaluating education issues and challenges. The inputs brought forward can be as preliminary as initial findings up to official publications and past/current partnership project experiences.

  • The first seminar was held at IIEP on 6 December 2017, and featured two interventions:

- Amélie Gagnon (IIEP): Addressing global education inequalities via ODA: opportunistic donors or fulfilling unmet needs?
- Etienne Goigoux (Doctorant LEDa, Université Paris-Dauphine): Does teacher training matter for pupil achievement? Evidence from PASEC 2014 assessment.

  • A second seminar followed on: "Higher education in developing countries"

Held at CEPED on 3 October 2018, it was co-organized by AFD, IIEP-UNESCO and CEPED and featured two interventions.
