Teacher education policies: training, regulations and professional development

IIEP will organize the annual international forum of its office in Buenos Aires on Teachers policies. The forum aims to create a space for discussion between policy-makers, practitioners and academics from various countries. It will be held on 10-11 October at the Malba Museum, Fundación Costantini, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Teacher education policies: training, regulations and professional development
Since its creation in 1998, the IIEP office in Buenos Aires stresses the importance of teaching policies in Latin America. In line with UNESCO’s vision in this domain, it has been emphasizing the need to address issues relating to:
 
  • teacher training quality,
  • development of the teaching profession and its working conditions, and
  • ways of promoting a broader vision to support the development of comprehensive policies in this area.
In addition to the physical attendance, participants will be able to access the Forum online where keynote speeches and panel discussions will be broadcast live.
 
The national and international speakers include: Gary Anderson (United States), Stella Maldonado (Argentina), Max Correa Noriega (Colombia), Verónica Piovani (Argentina), Patricia Salas O´Brien (Peru), Juana Sancho (Spain), Guillermo Scherping (Chile), Sylvia Schmelkes (Mexico), Maurice Tardif (Canada), Emilio Tenti Fanfani (Argentina) and Denise Vaillant (Uruguay).
