IIEP responds to requests from ministries of education for assistance in technical areas related to planning and management such as: management information systems, simulation and projection models, costing of education programs, drawing up budgets, decentralization, and monitoring systems. In order to contribute to meeting Education for All (EFA) and Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) globally, special focus is given to supporting ministries in formulating education sector plans.

Strategic & operational plans

Although formulating education sector strategic and operational plans at national and provincial levels is a demanding and time-consuming process, it is given priority by IIEP in its cooperation with Member States.

Institutional development

To realize sustainability in its cooperation with countries, IIEP enhances the performance of regional and national institutions working in educational planning.

Approach to work

IIEP believes that countries should be supported to become autonomous in performing their educational planning and management tasks.

Emergencies and fragile contexts

Access to educatin is a basic human right - also for people who live in situations of emergency, in conflict areas or in fragile contexts. IIEP helps governments and other practitioners provide this.
