IIEP is not only present in the South, it also has a number of activities in Europe. This is facilitated by the fact that its headquarters are situated in France, with premises provided by the French government. Most of IIEP’s activities in the region involve research and dissemination. Their purpose is not only to inform the countries in question, many of which are in a period of economic transition, but also to draw lessons for countries elsewhere.
