Youth sensitive planning: planning education with and for youth
IIEP attended the 8th UNESCO Youth Forum
IIEP Plan with Youth team attended the 8th UNESCO Youth Forum on October 29th- 31st. During the Youth-led Thematic Plenary debate, IIEP presented its approach to ‘youth sensitive planning’ - planning education with and for youth - as well as its current work on youth engagement in education.
The team also met with youth participants from around the world at its stand to discuss issues concerning youth engagement in educational planning which will feed into the ongoing mapping of youth engagement activities.
In addition the team had the opportunity to discuss its work on youth sensitive planning with the United Nations Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth Ahmad Alhendawi (see photo).
IIEP’s presence at the forum was part of it’s the follow up activities of its Policy Forum on ‘Engaging Youth in Planning Education for Social Transformation’, which was held in October 2012.
