Afghan Education Minister visits IIEP

His Excellency Dr Asadullah Hanif Balkhi, Minister of Education of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, visited IIEP-UNESCO on 5 November 2015 to discuss ongoing and planned training activities in the country’s education sector. The visit occurred during the 38th session of the UNESCO General Conference.

IIEP has helped rebuild Afghanistan’s education system since 2002 with capacity development in education planning and management. The opening of Afghanistan’s National Institute for Educational Planning (NIEP) in Kabul on 21 April 2015 marked a major achievement of this long-term collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MoE).
