Dina El Khawaga

 

Dina El Khawaga is the Former Director of the Asfari Institute at the American University of Beirut. She was previously Programme Director at the Arab Reform Initiative in Paris and the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) programme at Sciences Po. She also worked for ten years in INGOs, namely the Ford Foundation MENA office (HE program) and served as the Regional Director of the Open Society Foundations’ Arab Regional Office. As an Associate Professor at Cairo University, she has dedicated nearly three decades to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses on the sociology of organizations, applied research in social science, political theory, media and public opinion, and international social movements.

She has a Doctor of Philosophy political sociology, social movements, knowledge production and dissemination from Sciences Po, a Master of Arts from the University of Paris 1: Panthéon-Sorbonne and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Cairo University.
