Max Fernando Mirón Ventura is Strategic Planning Manager at the Ministry of Education of El Salvador. He shares his vision for education and a fairer more harmonious world.

International Education Day is important because through education we can develop the potential of all people in a country, providing tools to build a better, sustainable, and peaceful future.

In El Salvador, the transformation of the education system is a priority.

The educational reform "My New School" that we are undertaking focuses on the fundamental conditions that guarantee the quality of Salvadoran education. It addresses infrastructure, early childhood, teacher training, a renewed curriculum, technology, health, and nutrition.

In my role, as Strategic Planning Manager at the Ministry of Education of El Salvador, I must ensure that there is coherence between the long-term objectives and actions at all levels of the education system, as well as in the organization from the central offices to the educational centres at the national level, passing through each department along the way. This is why it is important to modernize management tools and mechanisms, as they are essential for efficient and effective processes.

The world needs to invest in education because it is the cornerstone for present and future generations, who must face new challenges in all dimensions (economic, political, technological, cultural), focusing on equity and sustainability of human action.

This must be a commitment made from the highest political level, through all actors in education, regardless of whether they are from the public or private sector, inspiring the education community so that together we can make a better, fairer, and more harmonious world.
