Patrick Nkengne is Head of the Quality Management Support Programme

Patrick Nkengne is a public policy analyst. Since 2002, he has been putting his skills at the service of educational development in sub-Saharan Africa.

He was a technical adviser at PASEC, where he contributed to the design, implementation and use of pupil learning assessments. He then worked as a consultant for various international organisations and public administrations before joining IIEP in 2011 as an Education Policy Analyst. He contributed to and supported a number of countries in a variety of areas: education sector analysis, teacher-related issues, quality of education, education policy development and implementation, and policy evaluation. He participated in applied research, using both quantitative and qualitative methods. He contributed to the production and dissemination of methodological tools for educational analysis and planning.

Since October 2017, Patrick Nkengne has been in charge of the Programme to support the management of basic education quality. The aim of this programme is to understand what education stakeholders are doing for quality, at each level (school and its community, local administration, central administration), to know the rationales underpinning these actions and to propose on a documented basis improvements that assist the implementation.

Patrick Nkengne holds a master's degree in statistics from the National School of Applied Economics (ENEA) in Dakar, and a doctorate in economics and political science from the University of Burgundy and the University of Zurich.
