A propos de la publication

As the higher education sector in Bangladesh rapidly expands, a growing emphasis is being placed on ensuring the quality of education and employability of graduates. To address these issues, a national accreditation body was recently created with support from the World Bank. Individual higher education institutions were also required to establish institutional quality assurance cells. As a leading private university in Bangladesh, the American International University – Bangladesh (AIUB) requested international accreditation for selected academic programmes. This helped the university to build up its internal quality assurance (IQA) system and serve as a role model for other universities in Bangladesh. This case study was conducted within the framework of an international research project implemented by the UNESCO International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP). It pays particular attention to various IQA tools at the university in order to identify the contribution of IQA to the quality of education offered at AIUB and employment opportunities of the university graduates during the last decade.
