The International Working Group on Education (IWGE) meeting in 2010, on 'Financing Education: Redesigning national strategies and the global aid architecture', was held in Stockholm, Sweden, from 7 to 9 June. Hosted by Sida (the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency), the event drew 35 participants. It had been suggested at the 2008 IWGE meeting (in New York) that the topic for the 2010 meeting should be more global and forward looking, and include issues of education and aid architecture. The topic was decided upon following further consultation with IWGE members and others. What follows is a brief summary of the presentations and discussions – which had a global, an African, and an Asian focus – and the recommendations that emerged from them.
