Who can apply?

This programme is for educational planners and managers around the world, other profiles from education ministries, and staff from other governmental bodies. Professionals working for NGOs and national and international agencies that contribute to educational planning are also welcomed to apply.

Applicants should have relevant professional work; hold a three-year post-secondary education in a field related to social sciences; read, write, and speak fluently in one of the two course languages; and be proficient in MS Word and Excel.

What will you learn?

The programme is organized around four courses, providing participants with the fundamentals of education sector policy, analysis, plan preparation, and plan monitoring. Participants will also need to successfully complete a self-paced introductory course on descriptive statistics.
Using an interactive, practice-oriented approach, our high-quality training will combine individual study, weekly online “live” sessions, and exchanges with international experts and participants to encourage collaboration and experience sharing.

At the end of the programme, participants should be able to:

  • Analyse the main theories and international commitments that shape education policy and planning,
  • Advocate for key policies that address the most pressing education challenges,
  • Calculate and interpret key education indicators for the analysis of major dimensions in educational planning,
  • Design and draft an education sector analysis,
  • Use simulation/projection tools,
  • Evaluate the relevance and feasibility of education plans,
  • Select, analyse, and present relevant information for planning including monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) concepts and evaluation strategies, plus more!

What is the selection procedure?

Geographical and gender balance will be taken into consideration in the selection process. Particular consideration will be given to applications received from low-income and middle-income countries.
