BE2’s annual meeting took place in Paris, co-hosted by IIEP-UNESCO and Aga Khan Foundation in June 2022.

Building Evidence in Education (BE2) is a donor working group, launched in 2012, with the aim of engaging bilateral and multilateral organizations and foundations. The objectives of BE2 are to strengthen donor research collaboration and coordination, encourage higher standards of commissioned research, and promote the availability and access to rigorous evidence. Members include multilateral and bilateral donors and independent foundations working in the education sector, with over 30 donor institutions represented.

In June 2022, BE2’s annual meeting took place in Paris, co-hosted by IIEP-UNESCO and Aga Khan Foundation. IIEP’s Director Karen Mundy and Jordan Naidoo, IIEP’s interim Deputy Director, opened the event. The hybrid format of the meeting enabled over 70 registered participants both in-person and virtual to come together to discuss relevant topics and identify areas for collaboration on evidence generation and utilization.

Representatives of over 25 organisations shared research findings, strategies and collaboration opportunities and got updates from three of the Special Interest Groups: Emergencies in Education (EiE), Knowledge System Strengthening (KSS) and Early Childhood Development (ECD).
