Stéphanie is a Programme Specialist in the Training and Education Programme Unit where she leads the Specializated courses programme and contributes to the IIEP training evaluation system. She is involved in the IIEP research project related to the design and use of global indicators to guide policy decisions on the effectiveness of HIV & AIDS prevention education programmes.

She has been actively involved in the development of the UNESCO Guidelines for the construction and use of core indicators measuring the education sector response to HIV and AIDS. This relate specifically in providing technical expertise as well as co-ordination of training workshops to the field-testing of these core indicators with the development and use of the tools (for data collection, entry, analysis and reporting for policy purposes).

Stephanie joined IIEP in 1997 to provide support for the Southern Africa Consortium for Monitoring Educational Quality (SACMEQ) on quantitative methods research for the conduct of large-scale studies of the quality of education. She developed training materials and provided capacity development support. She has been participated in training and educational policy research activities related to monitoring and evaluation (M&E) the quality of education as well as strengthening Education Management Information Systems (EMIS).
